Zstandard in the base system is outdated

The Zstandard version, in the base system, is outdated compared with the ports version:

> /usr/bin/zstd -V
*** zstd command line interface 64-bits v1.3.4, by Yann Collet ***
> /usr/local/bin/zstd -V
*** zstd command line interface 64-bits v1.4.4, by Yann Collet ***

A curiosity: why NomadBSD needs Zstandard in the base system ?

Thanks

Ops! Answered by myself.
The outdated Zstandard is in the FreeBSD base system.
Sorry for the noise.

If your question was still ‘why is it in the base system?’ then my understanding is back in 2017 Allan Jude brought it into FreeBSD as he was working on a proof of concept implementation of getting zstd compression into zfs. It is now available for coredumps too as can be found in dumpon(8) and savecore(8).
