Loging fully the boot sequence

I’m trying to track an issue where I don’t get ipv6. I see that rtsold does output something to the boot console, but then X start and I can’t read what rtsold said.

It’s not logged into dmesg. I have tried to use this trick , but I don’t get any /var/log/console while having the configuration. Is that to be expected?

Finnaly I have tried ctrl-alt-F9 and ctrl-alt-F2, to see the content of the console, but that creates a new virtual console and I can’t seem to get back to X anyway.

Is there a way for me to see/log what rtsold is saying when my computer boots?

You can try redirecting the boot logs to a file by configuring /etc/syslog.conf or using rc.conf settings for rtsold to log its output. This way, you can review the logs later without missing any details.
