Does NomadBSD offer desktop window quarter tiling?

Greetings,

I don’t have NomadBSD installed at the moment. Could someone tell me if NomadBSD offers window quarter tiling on the desktop?

I’ve been trying to use it on Debian 12 and it tends to be problematic with Firefox, causing crashing when viewing Paramount+, for example.

Thank you.

Hi,

that works with gnome who is available under nomadbsd.

A heads-up:
On NomadBSD/FreeBSD the packaged version of Firefox is compiled without the libraries for [copyrighted streaming].
In NomadBSD there is included a script/menu-entry that helps install a browser where Spotify, Netflix and the likes will work.

Ouch, didn’t notice the date

In the menu > Internet > Linux Browser Installer GUI

There are options for installing:

  • Google Chrome
  • Brave
  • Vivaldi
  • Opera
  • Microsoft Edge

CLI-command:

> sudo /usr/local/bin/lbi-gui

Yes I take a look at the script.

That install all the browser you have listed.

It’s written in python.

That install linux ubuntu.

and the binary are in

/compat/ubuntu/bin/brave

for brave browser. The binary aren’t free.

this script is useful for install, update, and for remove ubuntu and the browser.

With the library copyrighted streaming

All this is about DRM, the content is protected but it can be read by Widevine.

You can test your browser on

demo.castlabs.com

There is a port but with linux enable

There is a solution with electron.

Widevine is a “Content Decryption Module” (CDM) that provides Vivaldi with support for Encrypted Media Extensions (EME). EME are a form of Digital rights management (DRM) that are required by many, popular audio/video streaming services (Netflix, Amazon Prime, Spotify, Tidal, etc.).

Testing support

To test Widevine support, go to demo.castlabs.com and attempt to play the videos tha
