141R-20240711 (x64, UFS) hangs during kernel start after detecting AT keyboard controller

I’m trying to boot a Qotom Intel Atom C3758-based system from a NomadBSD stick I just created. Stick is brand new and a quality drive (Lexar, bought in a 2-pack from Costco). I tried a different drive and am having the same results, so I don’t think it’s the drive.

It gets through the initial loader just fine, starts detecting hardware, does just fine with all 4 Intel X553 ethernet NICs… and seems to hang after it discovers a keyboard controller.
atkbdc0: <Keyboard controller (i8042)> at port 0x60, 0x64 on isa0

For what it’s worth, the system doesn’t even have a physical AT keyboard port on it. It does use an ASpeed chip for VGA output, and I know that ASpeed is often used as a full BMC/IPMI controller, so it’s possible this keyboard controller is vestigial from the display output solution…?

I’m using a wireless USB-dongle-based keyboard on the system (happens to be this Lenovo Trackpoint2 wireless keyboard).

What can I try next to understand what is causing it to hang here?
